Social Media Manager
Type: Full-time, permanent
We’re looking for a social media whiz who knows the ins and outs of all major platforms, including Facebook, Instagram, Twitter and TikTok. Someone who is equally as skilled in scheduling, analytics, and organization as they are in writing the perfect witty caption. Ideally, they’d be proficient in programs such as Slack, Asana, Canva and Later. The Social Media Manager will work directly with the Sales & Promotion Director and Branded Content Manager as well as the rest of the editorial team.
Senior Staff Writer
Type: Full-time, permanent
Do you live in Victoria and have a passion for the written word? Victoria Buzz is looking to hire a Senior Staff Writer who will spearhead the writing team. The ideal candidate will love coming up with creative ways to phrase stories, whether serious or informal. Wordplay is your thing, and you love puns almost as much as you love knowing about the what’s what and who’s who around Victoria. You’re familiar with us and other local media outlets, and recognize the role played by social media in the dynamic world of journalism. Experience in the field of journalism is a bonus!
Junior Staff Writer
Type: Part-time, permanent
All of the above, with a little less weight on your shoulders! We’re looking for writers who love to write about food, lifestyle, fashion, entertainment, technology, etc. that are hyper-local or otherwise relevant to our audience in Victoria and Vancouver Island. You’ll have a passion for covering the latest breaking news, and are comfortable reporting on everything from politics to pizzerias.
