A 41-year-old man with multiple outstanding warrants was arrested last week after he was busted shoplifting at a box store in Langford.

On February 12th, West Shore RCMP say they responded to a report of shoplifting that took place at Winners located in the Westshore Town Centre.

According to a store employee, the suspect had stolen several items and left the store on foot.

RCMP officers were on scene within minutes and spotted the suspect running through the mall parking lot where they were able to apprehend him.

The suspect was still in possession of stolen items, including a pair of running shoes that he was wearing at the time – which he allegedly had just stolen from the store.

The 41-year-old man was arrested for theft and officers learned he was also breaching a court order from an unrelated investigation.

“In addition to breaching a court order the suspect was also wanted on 7 outstanding warrants for his arrest from various investigations out of West Shore, Saanich and Victoria,” said Cst. Nancy Saggar, West Shore RCMP Media Relations Officer.
