VicPD officers were able to disarm a man at gunpoint this morning after he threatened them with a shovel.
Just before 9 a.m., police were notified that City of Victoria Bylaw officers were confronted by a man wielding a shovel in Ravine Park, near the 400-block of Cecelia Road.
The bylaw officers were able to retreat to safety while awaiting the police response.
When officers arrived, the man did not comply with their directions and also confronted them with the shovel.
One officer drew their service pistol while the other displayed a taser.
The man dropped the shovel and retreated to a nearby tent in the park where he was arrested without further incident.
No one was physically injured.
