A serious head-on collision has closed a road in Saanich Thursday morning.
The Saanich Police Department is currently investigating the crash on West Saanich Road near Prospect Lake Road.
The incident occurred shortly after 7:30 a.m. and involved two vehicles. Photos from the scene show a heavily damaged small vehicle in the middle of the road and a pick-up truck in the ditch.
Saanich Police confirmed one fatality. Other injuries are unknown at this time.
Northbound traffic along West Saanich Road will be closed at Old West Saanich Road and southbound traffic will be closed at Prospect Lake Road.
