The BC Ministry of Health reported 908 new cases of COVID-19 across the province on Friday, March 26th.
There have been a total of 95,677 cases since the pandemic began.
New cases were reported in these health regions:
Vancouver Coastal Health: 294
Fraser Health: 438
Island Health: 55
Interior Health: 43
Northern Health: 78
The number of active cases in BC increased from 5,856 to 6,245.
There are now a total of 294 people in hospital due to COVID-19, 81 of whom are in critical care — ICU or acute care units.
Three new people have died from COVID-related causes making the provincial death toll at 1,449.
9,996 people are under active public health monitoring after exposure to COVID-19.
A total of 87,866 people have recovered from novel coronavirus.
There has been no new health-care facility outbreaks.

Island Health reported 59 new cases of COVID-19 today.
The number of active cases on the island increased by 33 cases to 266 remaining active cases.
Breakdown of cases on Vancouver Island:
- South Vancouver Island: Active cases: 117 (+12) │ Total cases: 864 (+23)
- Central Vancouver Island: Active Cases: 128 (+19)│ Total Cases: 1,721 (+30)
- North Vancouver Island: Active cases: 21 (+3)│ Total Cases: 496 (+6)
15 people remain in hospital with 1 in ICU.
There were no new deaths in the Island Health region.
28 people have died since the pandemic began.
Vaccinations and Variants
To date, 637,856 (+27,185) doses of COVID-19 vaccine have been administered in BC, 87,233 (+21) of which are second doses.
There have been 140 new confirmed COVID-19 cases that are variants of concern in our province.
Of the total number of 1,912 confirmed variant cases, 258 cases are active and the remaining people have recovered.
Of the total, 1,666 cases were of the UK variant, 47 cases were of the South Africa variant, and 199 cases of the Brazil variant.
