Emergency crews currently attempting rescue of injured hiker on Mount Doug

Saanich Fire crews are currently involved in a technical rope rescue of an injured hiker on Mount Douglas Saturday night.

Emergency crews were were dispatched to the mountain around 6:30 p.m. and remain on scene.

According to scanner reports, several emergency crews are assisting and analyzing trails before attempting a rescue.

Reports say that crews are requesting 200 to 300 feet of rope, as well as nitrous and headlamps.

Saanich Fire are asking people to avoid the area, the upper viewpoint.
