Expect major traffic delays on the Malahat this morning as fire crews deal with a large truck fire on Trans Canada Highway near the Shawnigan Lake exit.
The fire broke out at around 9:45 a.m. and the tandem-truck was stocked with lumber on the back of the vehicle.
The truck is owned by Nickel Brothers, and a representative for the company told Victoria Buzz that the driver did not sustain any injuries, and that the truck was en-route to Victoria to deliver lumber.
According to DriveBC, the fire occurred near Okotoks Roads and the highway remains closed as crews douse the blaze and clean up the debris from the fire.
More to come.
