A Vancouver Island man is in hospital with potentially life-threatening injuries after being stabbed in the Campbell River area.

The incident took place at around 8:45 a.m. on Wednesday, March 25th.  Police say that a 40-year-old Campbell River man had been brought into the Campbell River Hospital with multiple serious and life-threatening stab wounds.

Investigators with Campbell River RCMP were confident where the stabbing took place and located and arrested three suspects at the scene without incident.

The three suspects — all men who are from the Lower Mainland — were taken into custody.

“This was a very serious incident. It is believed that the parties involved were known to one another and there was no danger to the general public in the community,” said Cst. Maury Tyre.

Campbell River RCMP says the investigation is ongoing.
