Oak Bay Police seek help in locating pet budgie that escaped

Share

For one Oak Bay resident, he’d prefer if  “free as a bird” was just an expression.

This past Saturday on April 3rd, Oak Bay police received a report that a pet budgie had flown out of an open door at a residence.

Peter, a six-month-old green and yellow budgie, flew out the door and never returned to his home in the 2000-block of Cedar Hill Cross Road.

According to the report, Peter is a social bird and will land on the shoulder of anyone who calls out to him. The bird may “talk” by saying “Peter pretty boy” or “I love you”.

Oak Bay police are urging anyone who locates Peter to contact Oak Bay PD, ROAM, or the SPCA immediately.

There is a reward offered for any information leading to his safe return.
