A man with a history of sexual offences, including some against children, was arrested at Gonzales Beach Friday for violating court-ordered conditions.
According to VicPD, an off-duty police officer spotted the man at the beach just before 5 p.m. on April 16th.
The officer knew the man had court-ordered conditions barring him from both public beaches and from being in close proximity to children and called for on-duty officers to assist.
“The on-duty officers arrived, observed the man in breach of his court-ordered conditions, and moved to arrest him,” VicPD said in a media release.
VicPD said the man initially fought with officers and a brief struggle ensued before he was taken into custody.
The man was held in custody and is facing two charges for breaching court-ordered conditions.
