A security guard at Hillside Shopping Centre was stabbed while stopping a theft Tuesday night and has suffered potentially life-threatening injuries as a result, according to police.
According to VicPD, the incident occurred at a store in the 1600-block of Hillside Avenue.
Officers found the victim and applied tourniquets to their injuries before they were transported to hospital.
Photos and video from the scene show the incident occurred at Canadian Tire in Hillside Shopping Centre.
The suspect was arrested at the scene and will be held for court, according to police.
The scene remains behind police tape as investigators speak with witnesses and obtain evidence.
