Oak Bay Police catch driver going 134 km/h in a 50 km zone

Oak Bay Police have been dealing with speed demons and scene stealers this past week.

On Thursday, May 13th, Oak Bay Police observed a vehicle driving 134 km/hr in a 50 km zone in the 2300-block of Cedar Hill Cross Road.

Officers pulled the driver over, and the vehicle was impounded for 7 days a violation ticket was also issued for excessive speed.

On Friday, May 14th, a witness observed a vehicle swerving while travelling northbound in the 900-block of Foul Bay Road.

The female driver had driven over a sidewalk curb and hit a posted 30 km sign.

The vehicle was last seen driving westbound on Brighton Avenue and when it was located, the driver had fled the scene.

Later, the driver was identified and she was issued violation tickets for driving without consideration and failure to remain at a scene of an accident.

While the weather gets nicer and the beach drinks get bountiful, remember to always have a safe ride home!
