One person and a dog died in an early morning fire in the North Park neighbourhood of Victoria early Wednesday morning.
According to a media release, the Victoria Fire Department were called to an apartment building at 1035 North Park Street just before 1:30 a.m. on May 26th.
Fire crews arrived to find flames coming out of a third-floor suite.
Two people were rescued from their balconies. Sadly, one person and one dog died.
The fire was contained to a single unit, however, three other units and the hallway sustained smoke damage.
