The northbound lanes on Nanaimo Parkway are closed following a two-vehicle crash this morning.
At approximately 7:40 a.m., Wednesday morning, two northbound semi-trailers collided near the Island Highway and Northfield Road intersection.
According to Nanaimo RCMP, northbound traffic on the Island Highway is being re-routed eastbound at the Northfield Road intersection towards Bowen Road.
Southbound traffic on the Island Highway has not been interrupted.

One driver is injured and has been transported to the Nanaimo hospital.
Investigators are examining the scene and Nanaimo RCMP are asking motorists to avoid the area and take alternate routes.
