153 new cases of COVID-19 reported by BC health officials on Thursday, June 10th

The BC Ministry of Health reported 153 new cases of COVID-19 on Thursday, June 10th.

There have been 145,996 cases of COVID-19 since the pandemic began.

New cases were reported in these health regions:

  • Vancouver Coastal Health: 21
  • Fraser Health: 73
  • Island Health: 11
  • Interior Health: 39
  • Northern Health: 9

There are currently 1,910 active cases of COVID-19 in the province.

142,314 people who tested positive have recovered.

There are now a total of 176 people in hospital due to COVID-19, 46 of whom are in critical care — ICU or acute care units.

4 new people have died from COVID-related causes, making the provincial death toll at 1,729.

Outbreaks

There are currently 5 outbreaks in long-term care and assisted-living facilities and 2 outbreaks in acute-care facilities.

Island Health:

Island Health reported 11 new cases of COVID-19 in the Vancouver Island region.

Breakdown of cases on Vancouver Island:

  • South Vancouver Island  Active cases: 31 (+7)│Total Cases: 1935
  • Central Vancouver Island Active cases: 10 (+2) │ Total Cases: 2452
  • North Vancouver Island  Active cases: 8 (-1)│Total Cases: 699

2 people remain in hospital with 0 in ICU.

There have been no new deaths in the Island Health region.

41 people have died since the pandemic began

Vaccinations

74.9% of all adults in B.C. and 72.8% of those 12 and older have now received their first dose of a COVID-19 vaccine

To date, 3,823,103 (+73,345) doses of the COVID-19 vaccine have been administered in BC; 443,562 (+53,298) of which are second doses.
