180 new cases of COVID-19 reported by BC health officials on Friday, June 11th

The BC Ministry of Health reported 180 new cases of COVID-19 on Friday, June 11th

There have been 146,176 cases of COVID-19 since the pandemic began.

New cases were reported in these health regions:

  • Vancouver Coastal Health: 11
  • Fraser Health: 107
  • Island Health: 13
  • Interior Health: 39
  • Northern Health: 10

There are currently 1,880 active cases of COVID-19 in the province.

142,526 people who tested positive have recovered.

There are now a total of 162 people in hospital due to COVID-19, 45 of whom are in critical care — ICU or acute care units.

1 new person has died from COVID-related causes, making the provincial death toll at 1,730.

Outbreaks

There are currently 5 outbreaks in long-term care and assisted-living facilities and 3 outbreaks in acute-care facilities.

There has been one new outbreak at Rotary Manor Dawson Creek in the Northern Health region.

Island Health:

Island Health reported 13 new cases of COVID-19 in the Vancouver Island region.

Breakdown of cases on Vancouver Island:

  • South Vancouver Island  Active cases: 37 (+6)│Total Cases: 1942        
  • Central Vancouver Island Active cases: 11 (+1) │ Total Cases: 2453
  • North Vancouver Island  Active cases: 8 (-0)│Total Cases: 699 

2 people remain in hospital with 0 in ICU.

There have been no new deaths in the Island Health region.

Vaccinations

75.1% of all adults in B.C. and 73.1% of those 12 and older have now received their first dose of a COVID-19 vaccine

To date, 3,893,581 (+70,478) doses of the COVID-19 vaccine have been administered in BC; 497,932 (+54,370) of which are second doses.
