183 new cases of COVID-19 reported by BC health officials on Friday, June 4th

The BC Ministry of Health reported 183 new cases of COVID-19 on Friday June 4th

There have been 145,049 cases of COVID-19 since the pandemic began.

New cases were reported in these health regions:

Vancouver Coastal Health: 40

Fraser Health: 101

Island Health: 3

Interior Health: 30

Northern Health: 9

There are currently 2,453 active cases of COVID-19 in the province.

140,835 people who tested positive have recovered.

There are now a total of 224 people in hospital due to COVID-19, 59 of whom are in critical care — ICU or acute care units.

1 new person have died from COVID-related causes, making the provincial death toll at 1,710.

Outbreaks

There are currently 5 outbreaks in long-term care and assisted-living facilities and 1 outbreaks in acute-care facilities.

Island Health:

Island Health reported 3 new cases of COVID-19 in the Vancouver Island region.

Breakdown of cases on Vancouver Island:

  • South Vancouver Island  Active cases: 18 (-1) Total Cases: 1,906
  • Central Vancouver Island Active cases: 14 (-1) Total Cases: 2,443
  • North Vancouver Island Active cases: 4 (+1) Total Cases: 691

3 people remain in hospital with 1 in ICU.

There have been no new deaths in the Island Health region.

41 people have died since the pandemic began

 

Vaccinations

72.4% of all adults in B.C. and 69.6% of those 12 and older have now received their first dose of a COVID-19 vaccine

To date, 3,488,884 (+62,057) doses of the COVID-19 vaccine have been administered in BC; 256,725 (+27,140) of which are second doses.
