277 new cases of COVID-19 were reported by BC health officials for a three-day period on June 14th

The BC Ministry of Health reported 277 new cases of COVID-19 for a three-day period on Monday, June 14th.

There have been 146,453 cases of COVID-19 since the pandemic began.

Case breakdown Day-to-Day:

Friday to Saturday: 96 new cases
Saturday to Sunday: 113 new cases
Sunday to Monday: 68 new cases

New cases were reported in these health regions:

  • Vancouver Coastal Health: 36
  • Fraser Health: 148
  • Island Health: 12
  • Interior Health: 63
  • Northern Health: 16

There are currently 1,537 active cases of COVID-19 in the province.

143,147 people who tested positive have recovered.

There are now a total of 136 people in hospital due to COVID-19, 42 of whom are in critical care — ICU or acute care units.

Four new people have died from COVID-related causes, making the provincial death toll at 1,734.

Outbreaks

The outbreaks at Richmond Hospital, Richmond Lions Manor Bridgeport and the Iqra Islamic school are now over.

There are currently 5 outbreaks in long-term care and assisted-living facilities and 3 outbreaks in acute-care facilities.

Island Health:

Island Health reported 12 new cases of COVID-19 in the Vancouver Island region and 55 active cases.

Breakdown of cases on Vancouver Island:

  • South Vancouver Island  Active cases: 41 (+4)│Total Cases: 1,952
  • Central Vancouver Island Active cases: 7(+7) │ Total Cases: 2,454
  • North Vancouver Island  Active cases: 7 (-1) │Total Cases: 700

2 people remain in hospital with 0 in ICU.

There have been no new deaths in the Island Health region today, and a total of 41 deaths on Vancouver Island.

Vaccinations

75.9% of all adults 18+ and 74.1% of those 12 and older have received their first dose.

To date, 4,048,346 (+154,765) doses of the COVID-19 vaccine have been administered in BC; 613,453 (+115,521) of which are second doses.
