Vancouver Island is home to some incredible local breweries, with beers perfect for patio season or enjoying in your own backyard. 

Each year, locals look forward to new seasonal brews and returning favourites to enjoy.

Here are 31 seasonal Vancouver Island beers to cool down with this summer:

Vancouver Island Brewing (Victoria) 

Beachcomber Hefeweizen 

(5.3% ABV | 18 IBU)

Traditional German style with flavours of banana and clove. 

Melon & Kiwi Sour 

(5.3% ABV | 18 IBU)

Mildly tart sour ale with flavours of cantaloupe, kiwi and aromas of honeydew.

Juan de Fuca Cerveza 

(4.8% ABV | 19 IBU)

Light and crisp take on a Mexican classic.

Twisted Stalk Blackberry Helles 

(5% ABV | 15 IBU)

A light, summer fruit beer. 


Hoyne Brewing (Victoria)

Finnegans Irish Stout

Complex, deep roasted flavour with mild hops.

This tart beer is soured with Phillip’s house-cultured lacto strain, lemon juice and cranberry juice. 

Crangerine Dream Ale

This delicious ale features flavours of juicy citrus and tart berries.

Solaris White Peach Ale

(4.3% ABV) 

This bright and crisp ale has juicy notes of peach. 

Dinosaur Blackberry Sour

(4.2% ABV)

A local favourite. ‘Dino sour’ is a blackberry ale with a tart bite. 

Raspberry Wheat Ale

(5% ABV)

This deep, ruby red beer has a light champagne mouthfeel and a clean, dry finish.

Rugged Coast Lime Gose

(4.5% | 11 IBU)

Vancouver Island Sea Salt and fresh-squeezed lime. 25¢ from every can sold will be donated to Rugged Coast Society

Quine Tart Lager


A slightly tannic and fruity Graff with a medium effervescence.

Citra Dragon Hazy Pale Ale

(5% ABV | 34 IBU)

Hop-forward hazy pale ale with notes of floral citrus, grapefruit, lemon, berries, rose and tropical fruit. 


Dog Mountain Brewing (Port Alberni)

Limesickle IPA 

(7.1% ABV | IBU 14)

Lime zest mixed with vanilla and lactose makes this creamy limesickle flavoured beer!


Whistle Buoy Brewing (Victoria)

Outer Peace – Spruce Tip Pale Ale

(5% ABV | 30 IBU)

American style pale ale features locally foraged spruce tips. Brewed in partnership with Arc’teryx Victoria.


Ace Brewing (Courtenay)

Cherry Creamsicle F@#%! Bomb

(5.5% ABV | 5 IBU)

Sour ale fermented with over 550 pounds of sweet dark cherries and sweetened with bourbon vanilla.

F@#%! Bomb Raspberry Lemonade Sour

(5.5% ABV | 5 IBU) 

Kettle soured ale fermented with raspberry with added tartness of lemon zest. 


Ile Sauvage Brewing (Victoria)

Sitka Sour

(5% ABV)

Golden Sour base beer aged on massive amounts of local Sitka Spruce Tips with bursting with fruit aromas including blueberry, gooseberry and lemon candy.

Ananas Gose

(5.5% ABV)

Brewed with local seal salt and coriander and conditioned with pineapple and fresh Ginger. 


Twa Dogs Brewing (Victoria)

The Dos Perros Mexican Lager 

(4.5% ABV)

Dos Perros is a light, fresh and crisp beer made using Mexican lager yeast. 

Ponkan Tangerine Pale Ale

(5% ABV, 30 IBU)

This pale ale is crisp, juicy and citrus infused.


Twin City Brewing (Port Alberni)

Late Bloomer Strawberry Hibiscus Sour 

(5.5% ABV)

Hibiscus petals were added to the fermenter during the creation of this tart sour.

Out On A Limb Blackberry Spruce Tip Sour 

(4.5% ABV)

Freshly foraged Sitka spruce tips were added directly into the kettle and fermenter for this sour. This beer is a collaboration with Land & Sea Brewing


Red Arrow Brewing (Duncan)

Heritage River Hefeweizen

(5.1% ABV)

This beer is light and an easy drinking wheat-beer full of summery aromas and flavours of citrus fruits, plantains and cloves.

Sidetracked ISA

(4.5% ABV)

This hazy ISA features hop flavours of citrus fruit and pine as well as subtle notes of biscuit and oat.

Invasion of the Blackberry Lager

(5.3% ABV)

Smooth caramel malt balance out the blackberries’ natural tartness of this lager. 

Camping Saison

(7.7% ABV)

French barley was used to make this hazy orange Saison.


Category 12 Brewing (Saanichton)

Raspberry Vanilla Sour

(7.9% ABV) 

This raspberry vanilla sour features BC raspberries picked at the peak of ripeness added to a golden sour base and a hint of vanilla. 

Isometric IPA


This new delicious IPA has a resinous backbone with massive tropical fruit hop aromas.
