9 photos of this all-new immersive experience in downtown Victoria

According to the United Way Greater Victoria, the COVID-19 pandemic has increased the demand on mental health services by up to 50% on Vancouver Island.

Thankfully, this past year has also initiated many important conversations surrounding mental health.

Canopy in Bloom’ was born with this in mind; the floral archway is a free and immersive experience located in the center court of the Bay Centre, and seeks to raise awareness and funds for mental health services available to the community such as BC211 and United Way Greater Victoria’s Blue Love Campaign for Mental Health.

The design includes over 4,600 stems of baby’s breath, 675 ft of tulle and hundreds of dried florals, incorporating roses, hydrangea, palm leaves, ferns, carnations and pampas grass into a blooming experience.

The exhibit seeks to be a reminder that beauty, love and support are all around you.

Canopy in Bloom is free and open to the public now through September 20th.
