

The death of a 27-year-old Nanaimo woman is now being treated as a homicide.
The body of Amy Watts was in downtown Nanaimo on Thursday, June 3rd, in a small wooded steep ravine near the intersection of Albert Street and Victoria Crescent.
Watts was reported missing by her family on Thursday, May 27th.
Nanaimo RCMP said they have updated the family and the serious crime unit has taken over the investigation.
“Police are fully engaged and are actively pursuing all investigative steps”, said Constable Gary O’Brien of the Nanaimo RCMP.
No arrests have been made.
