A school in Nanaimo is currently under hold and secure after reports that a youth was seen with a weapon Friday afternoon.
According to RCMP, Nanaimo District Secondary School (NDSS ) was put under a hold and secure at around 11:30 a.m. after consultation with police, school administrators, and District administrators.
Officers are located inside the school and on school grounds.
Police have been unable to confirm what weapon if any the youth may have in his possession.
The youth involved is known to the police.
