This week’s draw, which happens Tuesday, has a record-breaking $117 million in prizes.
Of the $113 million, an estimated $70 million goes towards a jackpot, while the remaining $47 million is divided into 47 separate $1 million MAXMILLIONS prizes.
No Canadian lottery has ever reached this amount of total prizes before, according to BCLC
The previous Lotto Max record-breaking draw occurred on October 26, 2018, and was $116 million combined, with a $60-million jackpot plus 56 Maxmillions prizes.
Tickets for Lotto Max can be purchased at any lottery service provider, and run for $5 each.
A ticket includes three sets of seven numbers (that range from 1 – 50), and winners of the jackpot or million-dollar prizes must match one set of seven numbers to the numbers drawn.
The odds of winning the $70 million grand prize are 1 in 33,294,800. If no jackpot winner is found on Tuesday, the same amount will be available for a winner on Friday.
Lotto Max is a Canadian lottery that is played throughout the country.
