With the assistance of an RCMP helicopter and the police dog services team, 33-year-old Lloyd Robinson was arrested in Langford last week.
In May, an investigation into Robinson began and an arrest warrant was issued after he threatened to kill his ex-wife and their children.
On July 7th, at approximately 3:00 p.m. Robinson was spotted traveling on the Trans Canada Highway by a nearby RCMP officer. The officer recognized and began to pursue Robinson’s vehicle.
Robinson, becoming suspicious he was being followed, sped up and attempted to evade police, turning onto Finlayson Arm Road and continuing through the park. He eventually left his vehicle and began attempting to escape on foot.
Officers from West Shore RCMP, Municipal Traffic and the police dog services team responded to the area to assist in locating the suspect.
A nearby RCMP helicopter located the vehicle from above and directed officers on the ground to the suspect’s location.
The RCMP Air Services helicopter assisted West Shore RCMP last week in locating a Langford man wanted on a warrant for threatening his family. Also located during the arrest were weapons, drugs and cash. #yyj #Halla

Cpl. Lewis and Police Service Dog Halla, the West Shore RCMP Police Dog Services team, tracked Robinson through the bush where he was located and taken into custody.
Located inside the vehicle was a replica handgun, multiple knives, bear spray, various larger quantities of substances believed to be cocaine, MDMA and cannabis and approximately $3000 Canadian dollars, according to West Shore RCMP.
