A young driver will be facing the consequences after they crashed their car into an ambulance in Oak Bay Sunday night.

The crash occurred at around 10 p.m. in the 3600-block of Cadboro Bay Road.

According to Oak Bay police, the ambulance with its lights on was unoccupied at the time of the crash.

Witnesses reported that the driver seemed extremely inebriated, and refused a breathalyzer test at the scene, then was taken to hospital to complete further testing.

The 22-year-old driver blew 4 times over the legal limit, according to Oak Bay Police.

No other injuries were reported.
