Applications open for businesses and artists at Langford Station project

Share

A new development project on Langford’s Station Avenue is now accepting applications for businesses and artists to occupy planned spaces.

The project, announced in May, is intended to revitalize an area nearby the old VIA Rail station, on Station Avenue between Peatt Road and Veteran’s Memorial Parkway.

As part of this development, the City of Langford has partnered with the Island Corridor Foundation to create “incubator” spaces for small businesses and artisans.

These spaces, according to renderings provided by the City, will take the shape of small cabin-like structures with open windows for vendors to sell goods.

There will also be artist studios and stalls for food trucks to park.

Applications from interested businesses and artists are now being accepted for:

  • Six artist studios, available for rent. Studio space can be rented individually, or multiple artists can share a single studio. The studios will provide an opportunity for artists to showcase their abilities while also offering their goods for sale.
  • Six business incubator retail locations, available for rent. Businesses will need to demonstrate in their application how they will contribute to the interactive and consumer experience at The Langford Station.
  • Six food truck stalls, available for rent daily. Interested food trucks must apply and be approved by the City of Langford prior to receiving permission to book dates.

All of these spaces are expected to be operational by spring 2022.

Further details on applications are available online at Langford.ca/TheLangfordStation.
