A Langford eatery is voluntarily closing its doors temporarily after a COVID-19 exposure.

In a social media post, the Rack Bistro, located at 2345 Millstream Road, confirmed that one of their staff tested positive for the virus.

While Island Health did not order the restaurant to close, the eatery has decided to temporarily close for the week in light of this information.

“This is our decision, as we feel we need to do our due diligence, err on the side of caution, to protect our team members and the community. We look forward to welcoming everyone back next week,” the post read.

On Tuesday, August 10th, the BC Ministry of Health reported 395 new cases of COVID-19 with 31 of those cases being reported in the Island Health region.

As of this publication, there are 3,284 active cases of COVID-19 in the province.
