Saanich Police are still trying to determine if everyone escaped a house fire they have deemed suspicious.
On Wednesday, August 11th, around 1:15 a.m, Saanich Fire attended a large house fire at the corner of Battleford Avenue and Wascana Street near the Trans-Canada Highway.
Detectives and forensic officers for Saanich Police are currently investigating the cause of the blaze and have said that due to the extensive damage, it may take longer than initially expected.
Several people were living in the home, and most have been accounted for.
However, Saanich police said they are unable to confirm that everyone made it out safe until they complete a thorough search of the house.
