Sidney business holding raffle event to support children in need of school supplies

It’s almost back to school time!

Sidney accountants, Hughesman Morris Liversedge, are back with their annual fundraiser to support children in their return to school.

In 2010, the firm began their annual pancake breakfast event. The event continued annually until 2020, when it was temporarily transformed into a raffle due to COVID-19.

This year, the company will be holding the raffle event once again in place of the pancake breakfast. However, all proceeds from the event will continue to go toward classroom supplies and field trips for Sidney Elementary School.

“Since 2010 we’ve raised over $42,000 for various causes such as Sidney Lion’s Food Bank, various peninsula families and most recently Sidney Elementary School” Elaine Hughesman, partner at Hughesman Morris Liversedge, told Victoria Buzz.

“Our firm has a strong culture which promotes education and lifelong learning, so it was a natural fit to give our support to Sidney Elementary School and help the learning from an early age,” added Hughesman.

Prizes for the raffle include 3 gift boxes, with two valued at $375 and first prize valued at $750.

The baskets feature goodies and gift certificates from local Saanich Peninsula businesses.

Raffle tickets cost $5 each or three for $10. They can be purchased at Hughesman Morris Liversedge’s office (9768 Third Street) or online via their website

The draw will be held on September 3rd. Good luck!
