A three-year-old girl has died after being struck by a rock playing at a mini-golf course at Mount Washington resort.

The incident occurred on Friday, August 27th.

The resort released a written statement that said the rock fell from above, rendering the girl unconscious.

The parents took her to the base of the lodge for medical attention where she was treated by first responders by both ambulance and air ambulance.

Sadly, lifesaving efforts were unsuccessful.

“The team at Mount Washington extends our sincerest condolences to the family and friends of this little girl,” the resort wrote in a statement.

“It is just devastating, and our hearts break for them. I would like to thank the first responders and our dedicated staff for their efforts in this unfortunate situation.”

Police and the BC Coroners Service are investigating the cause and circumstances of the child’s death.
