There’s a new school dedicated to improv comedy opening in Victoria

A local comedian is joining forces with an Edinburgh Fringe veteran to bring Victoria a new school dedicated to improv workshops.

Comedian Nash Park and improviser Kevin Matviw launched Garden City Comedya hard hitting, hilarious improv school that aims to bring the spirit of famed Second City Toronto to Victoria.

“In our workshops, we aim to bring the same supportive, friendly environment I helped encourage at The Second City Toronto to Victoria, with an emphasis on finding the funny in everyday situations,” said Matviv.

“Whether you’re a veteran or a complete beginner trying improv for the first time, Garden City is the place to make new friends, grow and laugh!”

Garden City Comedy is produced by Nash Park, who hosts Comedy Night at The Mint and classes will be taught by Kevin Matviw the winner for Outstanding Performance and Outstanding Production by Now Magazine Toronto for his Second City performance in 2019.

Garden City Comedy’s first intro improv class, Learn Improv, is $295 plus service fees and will occur between October 1st to November 5th.
