A traffic stop led to the discovery of a stolen vehicle in Metchosin over the weekend.

In a media release, West Shore RCMP said they received a complaint of a black pickup truck driving erratically on Sooke Road on Sunday.

A nearby officer then located the vehicle and conducted a traffic stop, only to discover it was a vehicle that had been stolen out of Shawnigan Lake earlier this month.

The driver, 48 year-old Nancy Klein, was arrested.

“As the investigation progressed, it was learned that the driver had provided a false name to police, was breaching several of her court imposed conditions and was in possession of other stolen properties, stated Constable Alex Bérubé, spokesperson for the West Shore RCMP.

Klein remains in custody as the investigation continues.
