With Halloween quickly approaching, more and more spooky events are being announced and, this year, people are getting creative.
Monster’s Haunted House is back at a new location in an old movie theatre, Ocean View Estates is releasing clowns and zombies into the old sunflower fields and Frankenstein is putting on a one man show at Craigdarroch Castle.
If you’re not yet in the Halloween, there are plenty of other events popping up around town for you to enjoy!

Attend Fright Nights at Ocean View Estates
For a limited time only, the very same sunny Saanichton Sunflower Field will be transformed into twists and turns of horror for some very exclusive fright nights!
Their twisted interactive experience features evil clowns and zombies filling the former sunflower field and they’re all ready to scare the pants off of even the most daring visitor.
Scare enthusiasts are welcome to come in costume or dress as themselves, but are urged to wear appropriate rain and mud gear.

Visit Monster’s Haunted House
Monsters Haunted House is back once more, at a brand new location that’s sure to spook even the bravest ghouls and goblins this year.
This Halloween, you’re invited to experience the old Landmark University Heights Movie theatre in a new, spine-tingling way.
In October, the space that once held the movie theatre will be transformed by Monsters Haunted House to this year’s eerie ‘University Frights Theatre’ event.

Attend a Jack o’Lantern hunt in Sidney
This Halloween, the Sidney Museum invites you to join their museum-wide jack o-lantern hunt!
Visit the museum to learn about Halloween history and find the jack o’lanterns that are hidden throughout the Museum.
Participants will receive Halloween treats and be entered for the chance to win a $100 gift card from Buddies Toys in Sidney.
All ages are welcome! Mask are mandatory for everyone aged five and up.

See a spooky movie at the drive in!
No, you haven’t been transported back in time, this is real! Legacy Drive-In has announced showtimes for their outdoor theatre at Westshore Motorsports Park.
This weekend, see IT: Chapter One and The Addams Family from the comfort of your car as you enjoy food by Westshore Burger Co.
Tickets must be purchased in advance and it is recommended patrons arrive 30 minutes before showtime to ensure they get the best spot.

Frankenstein @ Craigdarroch Castle
This Halloween, Frankenstein will wreak havoc in the hallowed halls of the Craigdarroch Castle.
Beginning October 9th and running until October 30th, this four-night, one-man version of Mary Shelley’s classic horror story, Frankenstein, will take place in the Castle’s dance hall, located on the fourth floor.

Take a ghostly tour at Ross Bay Cemetery
Every Sunday in October, you can take a spooky, guided walking tour through Ross Bay Cemetery. Learn about the history of Victoria as well as about some of those who have settled there (Sir James Douglas, Emily Carr, Billy Barker and more).
This Sunday, the tour is titled ‘Scottish Columbia’. The tour will feature stories of some of the Scottish pioneers who are at Ross Bay Cemetery.
