33-year-old man charged in Crofton double homicide over the weekend

RCMP have charged a Duncan man in the double homicide of two people over the weekend. 

Just after midnight on October 23rd, North Cowichan/Duncan RCMP officers responded to a report of a suspicious circumstance at a house in the 8600 block of Crofton Road. 

Upon arrival, officers located two deceased persons in the home.

Another man, who was also present in the residence, was quickly arrested without incident. 

The 33-year-old, who has now been identified as Justin James Dodd, was transported to the North Cowichan/Duncan RCMP detachment. 

While not confirmed, there are reports the two people killed were a father and son who resided in the home.

He is expected to appear in court on November 2nd to answer to two counts of second degree murder.

Police believed this was an isolated incident and assured the public there was no on-going risk to their safety.
