Victoria is home to some incredible restaurants, breathtaking views and an abundance of outdoor patios.
Since the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic, many restaurants have expanded their patio dining to encourage physical distancing and maintain service.
These temporary expanded service areas (TESAs) have not only helped restaurants and pubs during this difficult time, but they have also emphasised the city’s love for outdoor dining options.
After enjoying the pre-existing patios and the new TESAs, locals have now had their say on their favourite outdoor dining in and around the city.
OpenTable’s 100 Best Restaurants for Outdoor Dining list is back for 2021 and, this year, seven Vancouver Island restaurants made the list!
OpenTable is an online restaurant-reservation service where users can make a reservation online, read restaurant reviews from other diners and earn points towards free meals.
Their ‘100 Best Restaurants for Outdoor Dining’ ranking is generated from diner reviews collected between June 1st 2020 and May 31st 2021.
All restaurants with a minimum “overall” score and number of qualifying reviews were included for consideration.
A restaurant’s overall score is made up of various data points, such as overall diner rating, total number of reviews and regional overall rating
The list included seven of Vancouver Island’s own restaurants:
