CRD issues wastewater warnings along these Greater Victoria shorelines

Share

Just when you thought the rain couldn’t make things any worse.

The Capital Regional District (CRD) has issued combined stormwater and wastewater overflows along some shorelines in Greater Victoria.

The warning comes after heavy rainfalls which resulted in combined stormwater and wastewater overflows along the shorelines.

The areas affected are in the vicinity of Tarn Place in Oak Bay and Seaview Road in Saanich including Cadboro Bay; residents in these areas are advised to avoid entering waters.

The wastewater may pose a health risk to both humans and pets.

The CRD, in consultation with island Health and the local municipalities, will post public health advisory signs until sample results indicate enterococci (a bacteria similar to E. coli) levels are below the 70 CF/100mL recreational limit.
