One driver involved in a two-vehicle crash near Mill Bay died Thursday evening, while another has been taken to hospital.
The incident occurred at the intersection of the Trans-Canada Highway and the Cobble Hill Road/Kilmalu Road intersection just before 3 p.m. on October 14th.
According to RCMP, a KIA Forte was heading southbound on the Trans-Canada Highway when it struck a Ford van.
The driver of the KIA was pronounced dead at the scene.
The Mill Bay Fire Department, BC Ambulance Service and the BC Coroners Office arrived at the scene soon after the accident.
For several hours, traffic was reduced to one lane heading north, and then a detour via Kilmalu was made for drivers.
Police are investigating the crash.
