Just like that, the rain is back.

Today, Environment Canada issued a rainfall alert for both west, east, and inland Vancouver Island.

The rainfall, which could reach 75 to 150mm over a two day period, is expected to continue this upcoming weekend.

The rainfall alert is in place for both west and inland Vancouver Island with affected areas said to include western and mountainous sections.

Eastern sections of Vancouver Island near Bowser may also be affected.

Near the water, strong southeasterly winds will also accompany the rain and are predicted to reach 40 to 60km/h.

While no weather alert has been issued, heavy rain is in the forecast for the Victoria area throughout the weekend.

So with that said, don’t forget the umbrellas and raincoats!
