A motel in Courtenay that was being used as a supportive housing facility burnt down Tuesday morning.
Fire and emergency crews were called to the Travelodge Motel in Courtenay around 3 a.m. for reports that a fire was coming out of two upper-floor units.
BC Ambulance, RCMP, Emergency Support Services and the Comox Fire Department all attended the scene.
Significant damage was caused to the motel and according to a witness, one person was taken to hospital.
RCMP are currently investigating the incident.
