Greater Victoria is leading in COVID-19 vaccinations on Vancouver Island

Almost all of Greater Victoria has one dose of a COVID-19 vaccine.

According to the British Columbia Centre for Disease Control (BCCDC), 95% of the residents living in the Greater Victoria area are partially vaccinated against COVID-19, leading all communities on Vancouver Island.

In other communities on Vancouver Island, Saanich Peninsula has 94% of its population partially-vaccinated, and Greater Nanaimo just under 90%.

In terms of full-immunization, Greater Victoria sits at 89% and Saanich Peninsula at 90%.

The central coast in the Vancouver Coastal Health area, consisting of Bella Bella, Bella Coola, Denny Island, Ocean Falls and Oweekeno, has the most fully-immunized population in BC—with 94% of its residents having two doses of a COVID-19 vaccine.

As of Friday, October 15th, 89% of eligible British Columbians had received a first dose of COVID-19 vaccine and 83% received their second dose.

As of this publication, 77.3% of Canadians are vaccinated with one dose and 72.5% are fully-vaccinated.
