Vancouver Island man throws eggs at cell phone store employees (VIDEO)

A man armed with a carton of eggs and a mistrust for the 5G network accosted two employees at a cell-phone store in Campbell River this past weekend.

The incident occurred on Saturday at around 5 p.m. at the Quinsam Communications store at the Discovery Harbour shopping complex.

“He was screaming about 5G—thinking that people were spying on him. That was about the jist of why he came in,” Cody Spetifore, a sales representative for Quinsam told Victoria Buzz.

“It was definitely an unusual way to demonstrate.”

The incident, which lasted about a minute, was caught on Quinsam’s security video.

In the video, viewers can see the man walk into the store with a carton of eggs and yell about the 5G network. He is then seen throwing eggs at displays and the plexiglass which the workers are behind.

The unidentified man was wearing a red hoodie and a bandana over his mouth. No one was injured in the incident.

5G is a fairly new wireless network that was implemented around the same time concerns over COVID-19 came about in March 2020.

The network has seen its fair share of global conspiracies. The idea that the unidentified man expresses—that the 5G network is spying on him—is not a new idea.

Though, pelting workers at a cell-phone repair shop with a carton of eggs might be.

“It wasn’t scary. It was definitely funny, but most of all it was annoying,” Spetifore said.

“Apparently he actually did do some damage to the store.”

Spetifore said that Campbell River RCMP are currently investigating the incident.
