Wake up, Victoria! 

Although we’re all feeling those 4:30 p.m. sunsets, there is still plenty to do to liven up those dark November nights. 

This weekend, there are so many opportunities around town to try something new. With a new Justin Bieber and Tim Hortons collaboration, a new tasting room by a local favourite brewery and a brand new restaurant there is plenty to brighten your day.

Here are 16 things to do in and around Victoria this weekend, November 13th-14th: 

Try Tim Hortons new ‘Timbiebs’

Justin Bieber is helping bring three fresh flavours of Timbits in what both him and Tim Hortons are calling Timbiebs.

The pride of London, Ontario, teased the collaboration two days ago in an Instagram post and had fans wondering what was going on.

Now he’s helping bring three Timbiebs flavours – Chocolate White Fudge, Sour Cream Chocolate Chip, and Birthday Cake Waffle – to stores across North America.

Try Victoria’s new Vegas themed restaurant

Superflux {Cabana} is a 55-seat dining room upstairs on 804 Broughton Street harkening to a Hunter S. Thompson-inspired Las Vegas.

Owned by Vancouver-based brewery Superflux, the menu will have a stacked line of ten of Superflux’s own beers, a selection of rotating guest taps and select wine and cocktails. You can even grab a four-pack to go!

Try the new Driftwood Brewery Tasting Lounge

Thirteen years after Driftwood Brewery began operation at their original brewery in Rock Bay, the company has moved to a new warehouse space in Esquimalt. 

The 59,000 square foot space is located at 836 Viewfield Road and includes a distillery, tasting lounge with a patio, kitchen and an enhanced retail store.

Enjoy your favourite Driftwood beers, spirits from the new Driftwood Spirits, food from Dumpling Drop and select wine, beer and cider from other producers!

See a comedy show at Hecklers 

After being closed for nearly two years, Hecklers is back to fulfill your comedy needs. Every Saturday night, enjoy a comedian followed by Comedy Here Often?’s The Late show.

  • When: Dino Archie 7 p.m., Saturday, Comedy Here Often? The Late Show: 10 p.m., Saturday

Moon Shaft Flights are back at Moon Under Water!

This Halloween, take your favourite local drink to the next level with a flight of fall-flavoured Shafts.

The flights, which cost $18, each include a Pumpkin Spice, Salted Caramel, Maple Bourbon and Chocolate shaft.

Try a Starbucks holiday drink

Holidays are back at Starbucks with some old favourites and a brand new addition to their festive menu, however, a few favourites have been nixed – and the reactions on social media have been less than jolly. 

Starting Thursday, November 4th, when you visit a Starbucks location your hot drink will come in a festive red Starbucks cup.

Watch the Vancouver Island filmed series ‘Maid’

If you’re looking for a new series to watch on Netflix, check out ‘Maid’. 

The series, which was filmed entirely in the Greater Victoria area, is based on the memoir “Maid: Hard Work, Low Pay, and a Mother’s Will to Survive” by Stephanie Land.

Take in the views on the Malahat Skywalk

The Malahat Skywalk is open and they saw over 5000 visitors on their first weekend!

The attraction includes a viewing platform 250 metres above sea level, cafe, shops and a 600m elevated TreeWalk and nature trail. 

The Skywalk offers scenic views of Mt. Baker, Finlayson Arm, the Saanich Peninsula, and islands in two countries.

On a local subreddit, r/VictoriaBC, user fyrite asked the public to share their favourite local dishes, the go-tos, the ones people can’t live without. 

Victoria delivered, and over 300 recommendations were posted to the thread.

Fyrite took the recommendations and created a mass spreadsheet and map to allow the suggestions to be easily accessible and enjoyed by everyone!
