BC Ferries have cancelled multiple sailings for Wednesday, November 10th and Thursday, November 11th.

These are the following cancelled sailings for the next two days:

Cancelled Wednesday, November 10th Sailings

  • 2 pm departing Tsawwassen
  • 4 pm departing Swartz Bay
  • 6 pm departing Tsawwassen

Cancelled Thursday, November 11th Sailings

  • 8 am departing Swartz Bay
  • 10 am departing Tsawwassen
  • 12 pm departing Swartz Bay
  • 2 pm departing Tsawwassen

The delays are being caused by a problem with the starboard gearbox on The Spirit of Vancouver Island ferry.

An additional round trip from the Coastal Celebration is scheduled for 8 p.m. and 10 p.m. tonight in order to supplement the cancelled sailings.

BC Ferries says it will try to re-book travellers who have reserved a spot on a cancelled sailing. Bookings that cannot be rescheduled will be refunded, and capacity will return to regular standby basis.

“We appreciate your patience and apologize for any inconvenience you may experience as a result of these cancellations,” BC Ferries said in a statement.
