The BC Ministry of Health reported 1,270 new cases of COVID-19 for a three-day period on Monday, November 15th.
There have been 213,020 cases of COVID-19 since the pandemic began.
Day-to-Day Breakdown:
- Friday-Saturday: 502
- Saturday-Sunday: 387
- Sunday-Monday: 381
New cases were reported in these health regions:
- Vancouver Coastal Health: 121
- Fraser Health: 417
- Island Health: 183
- Interior Health: 275
- Northern Health: 274
- Resident outside Canada: 0
There are currently 3,837 active cases of COVID-19 in the province.
206,665 people who tested positive have recovered.
There are now a total of 376 people in hospital due to COVID-19, 116 of whom are in critical care — ICU or acute care units.
16 new people have died from COVID-related causes, making the provincial death toll 2,273.
Outbreaks
There have been no new health-care facility outbreaks.
The outbreaks at Mission Memorial Hospital and Cherington Place (Fraser Health) have been declared over.
There are a total of 23 ongoing health care outbreaks in the province.
There are currently 2 health care outbreaks in the Island Health region: Chartwell Malaspina Care Residence and Nanaimo Regional General Hospital.
Island Health:
Island Health reported 183 new cases of COVID-19 in the Vancouver Island region and 468 active cases.
Breakdown of cases on Vancouver Island:
- South Vancouver Island Active cases: 94 │Total Cases: 4671
- Central Vancouver Island Active cases: 258 │ Total Cases: 5558
- North Vancouver Island Active cases: 116 │Total Cases: 1547
There were 8 new deaths reported in the Island Health region today, and a total of 115 deaths on Vancouver Island.
Vaccinations
As of Monday, Nov. 15, 2021, 90.7% of eligible people 12 and older in B.C. have received their first dose of COVID-19 vaccine and 86.8% have received their second dose.
In addition, 91.1% of all eligible adults in B.C. have received their first dose and 87.3% have received their second dose.
To date, 8,441,045 (+17,561) doses of the COVID-19 vaccine have been administered in BC; 4,021,455 (+10,753) of which are second doses.
