The BC Ministry of Health reported 324 new cases of COVID-19 on Tuesday, November 23rd.
There have been 216,012 cases of COVID-19 since the pandemic began.
New cases were reported in these health regions:
- Vancouver Coastal Health: 38
- Fraser Health: 102
- Island Health: 36
- Interior Health: 77
- Northern Health: 60
- Resident outside Canada: 11
There are currently 3,047 active cases of COVID-19 in the province.
210,478 people who tested positive have recovered.
There are now a total of 345 people in hospital due to COVID-19, 115 of whom are in critical care — ICU or acute care units.
1 new person has died from COVID-related causes, making the provincial death toll 2,304.
Outbreaks
There have been no new health-care facility outbreaks.
There are a total of 12 ongoing health care outbreaks in the province.
There is currently no health care outbreaks in the Island Health region.
Island Health:
Island Health reported 36 new cases of COVID-19 in the Vancouver Island region and 381 active cases.
Breakdown of cases on Vancouver Island:
- South Vancouver Island Active cases: 94 │Total Cases: 4764
- Central Vancouver Island Active cases: 216 │ Total Cases: 5791
- North Vancouver Island Active cases: 71 │Total Cases: 1628
51 people remain in hospital with 12 in ICU.
There were no new deaths reported in the Island Health region today, and a total of 119 deaths on Vancouver Island.
Vaccinations
As of Tuesday, Nov. 23, 2021, 90.9% of eligible people 12 and older in B.C. have received their first dose of COVID-19 vaccine and 87.4% have received their second dose.
In addition, 91.3% of all eligible adults in B.C. have received their first dose and 87.9% have received their second dose.
To date, 8,568,132 (+16,266) doses of the COVID-19 vaccine have been administered in BC; 4,050,134 (+2,566) of which are second doses.
