BC health officials report 406 new cases of COVID-19 on Tuesday, November 2nd

The BC Ministry of Health reported 406 new cases of COVID-19 on Tuesday, November 2nd.

There have been 206,690 cases of COVID-19 since the pandemic began.

New cases were reported in these health regions:

  • Vancouver Coastal Health: 41
  • Fraser Health: 133
  • Island Health: 51
  • Interior Health: 95
  • Northern Health: 86
  • Resident outside Canada: 0

There are currently 4,694 active cases of COVID-19 in the province.

199,480 people who tested positive have recovered.

There are now a total of 445 people in hospital due to COVID-19, 137 of whom are in critical care — ICU or acute care units.

5 new people have died from COVID-related causes, making the provincial death toll 2,186.

Outbreaks

There have been two new health-care facility outbreaks at Royal Inland Hospital (Interior Health) and Nanaimo Regional General Hospital (Island Health).

There are a total of 41 active outbreaks in the province.

There are currently 2 health care outbreaks in the Island Health region: Nanaimo Regional General Hospital and Chartwell Malaspina Care Residence.

Vaccinations

As of Tuesday, Nov. 2, 2021, 90.0% of eligible people 12 and older in B.C. have received their first dose of COVID-19 vaccine and 85.4% have received their second dose.

In addition, 90.4% of all eligible adults in B.C. have received their first dose and 86.0%  have received their second dose.

To date, 8,263,575 (+13,009) doses of the COVID-19 vaccine have been administered in BC; 3,958,398 (+4,330) of which are second doses.
