The BC Ministry of Health reported 424 new cases of COVID-19 on Thursday, November 25th.
There have been 216,758 cases of COVID-19 since the pandemic began.
New cases were reported in these health regions:
- Vancouver Coastal Health: 62
- Fraser Health: 140
- Island Health: 63
- Interior Health: 93
- Northern Health: 66
- Resident outside Canada: 0
There are currently 3,061 active cases of COVID-19 in the province.
211,202 people who tested positive have recovered.
There are now a total of 295 people in hospital due to COVID-19, 112 of whom are in critical care — ICU or acute care units.
3 new people have died from COVID-related causes, making the provincial death toll 2,316.
Outbreaks
There have been two new health-care facility outbreaks at Ridge Meadows Hospital (Fraser Health) and St. Paul’s Hospital (Vancouver Coastal Health).
The outbreaks at Royal Inland Hospital (Interior Health) have been declared over.
There are a total of 10 ongoing health care outbreaks in the province.
There are currently no health care outbreaks in the Island Health region.
Island Health:
Island Health reported 63 new cases of COVID-19 in the Vancouver Island region and 366 active cases.
Breakdown of cases on Vancouver Island:
- South Vancouver Island Active cases: 82 │Total Cases: 4784
- Central Vancouver Island Active cases: 194 │ Total Cases: 5831
- North Vancouver Island Active cases: 90 │Total Cases: 1664
52 people remain in hospital with 14 in ICU.
There were no new deaths reported in the Island Health region today, and a total of 119 deaths on Vancouver Island.
Vaccinations
As of Thursday, Nov. 25, 2021, 91.0% of eligible people 12 and older in B.C. have received their first dose of COVID-19 vaccine and 87.5% received their second dose.
In addition, 91.4% of all eligible adults in B.C. have received their first dose and 88.1% received their second dose.
To date, 8,609,643 (+22,123) doses of the COVID-19 vaccine have been administered in BC; 4,056,728 (+3,640) of which are second doses.
