BC health officials report 500 new cases of COVID-19 on Tuesday, November 9th

The BC Ministry of Health reported 500 new cases of COVID-19 on Tuesday, November 9th.

There have been 210,203 cases of COVID-19 since the pandemic began.

New cases were reported in these health regions:

  • Vancouver Coastal Health: 48
  • Fraser Health: 152
  • Island Health: 76
  • Interior Health: 121
  • Northern Health: 103
  • Resident outside Canada: 0

There are currently 4,301 active cases of COVID-19 in the province.

203,375 people who tested positive have recovered.

There are now a total of 426 people in hospital due to COVID-19, 124 of whom are in critical care — ICU or acute care units.

5 new people have died from COVID-related causes, making the provincial death toll 2,223.

Island‌ ‌Health‌ ‌reported‌ ‌76 ‌new‌ ‌cases‌ ‌of‌ ‌COVID-19‌ ‌in‌ ‌the‌ ‌Vancouver‌ ‌Island‌ ‌region‌ ‌and‌ 489 active‌ ‌cases.‌

South‌ ‌Vancouver‌ ‌Island‌ ‌‌Active‌ ‌cases:‌ ‌132 ‌│Total‌ ‌Cases:‌ ‌4596 
Central‌ ‌Vancouver‌ ‌Island‌‌ ‌Active‌ ‌cases:‌ ‌275│‌ ‌Total‌ ‌Cases:‌ ‌5327 
North‌ ‌Vancouver‌ ‌Island‌ ‌‌Active‌ ‌cases:‌ ‌82 ‌│Total‌ ‌Cases:‌ ‌1430 
64 ‌people‌ ‌remain‌ ‌in‌ ‌hospital‌ ‌with‌ ‌16 ‌in‌ ‌ICU.‌  
There‌ ‌were‌ ‌3 ‌new‌ ‌deaths‌ ‌reported‌ ‌in‌ ‌the‌ ‌Island‌ ‌Health‌ ‌region‌ ‌today,‌ ‌and‌ ‌a‌ ‌total‌ ‌of‌ ‌103.‌

Vaccinations

To date, 8,361,935 (+14,942) doses of the COVID-19 vaccine have been administered in BC; 3,992,679 (+6,182) of which are second doses.
