The BC Ministry of Health reported 430 new cases of COVID-19 on Wednesday, November 3rd.
There have been 207,120 cases of COVID-19 since the pandemic began.
New cases were reported in these health regions:
* 202 new cases in Fraser Health
* 56 new cases in Vancouver Coastal Health
* 88 new cases in Interior Health
* 37 new cases in Northern Health
* 47 new cases in Island Health
* Total active cases: 632
There are currently 4,373 active cases of COVID-19 in the province.
200,220 people who tested positive have recovered.
Of the active cases, 137 individuals are currently in intensive care.
Due to a data error, the number of people in hospital was included in today’s report and will be provided tomorrow. There are now a total 137 people in critical care — ICU or acute care units.
There were 6 new COVID-related deaths, making the provincial death toll at 2,192. One of those new deaths were in the Island Health region.
Data by Vaccination Status:
From October 26th to November 1st, people not fully vaccinated accounted for 64.5% of cases and from October 19th to November 1st they accounted for 72.4% of hospitalizations.
Outbreaks
There has been one new health-care facility outbreak at Hallmark on the Park in the Fraser Heath region). There are a total of 40 active outbreaks, including two in the Island Health region at Chartwell Malaspina Care Residence and Nanaimo Regional General Hospital.
Island Health:
Island Health reported 47 new cases of COVID-19 in the Vancouver Island region and 632 active cases.
Breakdown of cases on Vancouver Island:
- South Vancouver Island Active cases: 123 │Total Cases: 4,484
- Central Vancouver Island Active cases: 339 │ Total Cases: 5,087
- North Vancouver Island Active cases: 62 │Total Cases: 1,334
There was 1 new death reported in the Island Health region today, and a total of 92 deaths on Vancouver Island.
Vaccinations
90.1% (4,174,139) of eligible people 12 and older in B.C. have received their first dose of COVID-19 vaccine and 85.5% (3,963,038) received their second dose.
In addition, 90.5% (3,913,478) of all eligible adults in B.C. have received their first dose and 86.1% (3,723,644) received their second dose.
