The BC Ministry of Health reported 970 new cases of COVID-19 for a three-day period on Monday, November 29th.
There have been 218,068 cases of COVID-19 since the pandemic began.
Day-to-Day Breakdown:
- Friday-Saturday: 389
- Saturday-Sunday: 309
- Sunday-Monday: 272
New cases were reported in these health regions:
- Vancouver Coastal Health: 103
- Fraser Health: 306
- Island Health: 238
- Interior Health: 189
- Northern Health: 134
- Resident outside Canada: 0
There are currently 2,882 active cases of COVID-19 in the province.
212,704 people who tested positive have recovered.
There are now a total of 303 people in hospital due to COVID-19, 115 of whom are in critical care — ICU or acute care units.
11 new people have died from COVID-related causes, making the provincial death toll 2,333.
Outbreaks
There have been no new health-care facility outbreaks in the province.
The outbreaks at Tabor Home and Maplewood House (Fraser Health) have been declared over.
There are a total of 6 ongoing health care outbreaks in the province.
There are currently no health care outbreaks in the Island Health region.
Island Health:
Island Health reported 238 new cases of COVID-19 in the Vancouver Island region and 463 active cases.
Breakdown of cases on Vancouver Island:
- South Vancouver Island Active cases: 100 │Total Cases: 4849
- Central Vancouver Island Active cases: 223 │ Total Cases: 5965
- North Vancouver Island Active cases: 140 │Total Cases: 1763
54 people remain in hospital with 17 in ICU.
There were no new deaths reported in the Island Health region today, and a total of 119 deaths on Vancouver Island.
Vaccinations
As of Monday, Nov. 29, 2021, 91.1% of eligible people 12 and older in B.C. have received their first dose of COVID-19 vaccine and 87.8% received their second dose.
In addition, 91.5% of all eligible adults in B.C. have received their first dose and 88.3% received their second dose.
To date, 8,672,194 (+41,716) doses of the COVID-19 vaccine have been administered in BC; 4,067,778 (+7,585) of which are second doses.
